The federal government on Tuesday announced the appointment of Arif Usmani as the president and chief executive officer of National Bank of Pakistan. A notification stated that Usmani had been appointed for a term of three years with immediate effect. The federal cabinet had already approved Usmani’s appointment. NBP, the second largest bank of the country, announced after-tax earnings of Rs12.5 billion for the January-June period of previous year.
