The Capital Development Authority (CDA) issued directives to formulate rules and regulations to change the existing buildings into highrises.
The decision was made during a meeting presided over by the premier at his official residence – the PM House.
Special Assistant to PM on CDA Affairs Ali Nawaz Awan, Special Assistant to PM on Political Affairs Naeemul Haq, CDA Chairman Amir Ahmed Ali were in attendance for the meeting.

PM Imran was apprised on the existing rules and regulations regarding the construction of highrise buildings in the city.
He also directed the CDA to draft changes for making existing buildings into highrises.
The prime minister also ordered the authority to present a strategy within a week time to speed up the process of design approval.
The CDA has also been told to evaluate the policy on the handover of the building.
The premier has also ordered the CDA to formulate a strategy for shanty towns established in the city.
