QUETTA: Member Provincial Assembly of Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) Sanaullah Baloch has said the province was ignored in the education sector, adding that the students were made fool in the name of ‘emergency’ announced by the authorities.

He was talking to a delegation led by BNP-M senior leader Ghulam Ali Baloch from Naseerabad the other day. “If we did not stop the political appointments of teachers, the education system could not be improved in the province,” said Sanaullah.

He added that veteran Baloch nationalist politicians have contributed a lot to the education sector in the province by establishing Balochistan University and other educational institutions.

During the meeting, issues facing the residents of Naseerabad were also discussed.

“There is no water for irrigating land in Naseerabad and Jaffarabad,” said Sanaullah, adding that thousands of acres of irrigation land have become barren due to water shortage in the two districts.

He added that farmers and poor people of the districts have been migrating to other areas because of water scarcity. And the elected representatives were not taking any initiative in this regard, he lamented.

The BNP-M leader said that the provincial government has failed in providing basic facilities to the people. However, the BNP-M has been fighting for the rights of people of Balochistan, he added.

He urged people to support BNP-M for the accountability of politicians who are neglecting the poor in Balochistan.
