PESHAWAR: A man allegedly shot dead his father-in-law who had come to ask why he was torturing his daughter.

A relative of the victim also died in the incident reported from Khatko Pul on the outskirts of Peshawar

“The suspect has been arrested,” DSP Rural Abdul Wahid Khan told Daily Express.

Amin Gul filed a complaint with the Badaber police that his father Subhan Gul, mother, sister and cousin Rasool Shah went to visit his sister’s husband Taj Muhammad, an Afghan refugee.

The family had come to the daughter’s house to inquire about her repeated complaints of physical battery by her husband.

However, no sooner did Subhan Gul asked why do you beat up my daughter every day, Taj pulled out a pistol and shot him and Rasool Shah. Both the men died on the spot, while the assailant fled the scene.

The women folk however remained unhurt. Neighbours alerted the police who moved the bodies to hospital for legal formalities.

Taj however could not go much far and was tracked and arrested by Peshawar police.
