Prime Minister Imran Khan told the task force on civil service reforms to make bold recommendations in the best interest of the country without hesitation while chairing a meeting on Friday.
The premier reiterated that the government is committed to reforming the bureaucracy to make it efficient and responsive.
“The government is committed to de-politicising the bureacracy and insulate it from all kinds of political pressures,” said the prime minister
He added the system of governance, at present, could not compete with the private sector where employment is given according to merit, adding that no system was sustainable if accountability was absent.
Pakistan is abundant with talent but the system does not reward it, we have to attract the best minds to serve our country, the premier said.
“We are committed to protecting the integrity and security of bureaucrats so that may devote their energy towards translating our political vision into reality,” said the prime minister.
