Police have arrested three suspects, including a woman in a murder case in Nankana Sahib’s Sangla Hill Tehsil, Express News reported on Thursday.

Reportedly, Saddar Police Station SHO Tasawwar Munir and his team were given the task to arrest the killers involved in murdering a rickshaw driver identified as Sufyan, a resident of Kotlan Kalan, around three months ago.

The police team carried out investigations and during the course, they managed to trace the culprits. Police raided a hide out and arrested accused Shaukat, Mohsin and Shakeela Bibi.

During interrogations, the suspects confessed to murdering Sufyan.  Police also seized the weapon used in the murder from the possession of the culprits.

Police said that Shaukat and Shakeela Bibi were in a relationship. However, one of their friends Sufyan had also fallen in love with Shakeela Bibi.

When Shakeela became aware of Sufyan’s intentions, she told Shaukat about the matter. In a bid to get rid of Sufyan, the couple decided to murder him.

On the day of the incident, Shakeela Bibi called Sufyan on his cellphone and asked him to meet her at an isolated place near Baroya area. When the victim reached the designated place, Shaukat and his accomplice Mohsin, who were waiting at side of the road, opened fire on him and fled the scene. The victim was killed on the spot.

Meanwhile, Nankana Sahib DPO Muhammad Naveed announced a cash prize and appreciation certificates for the police team that apprehended the suspects.

On January 28, police apprehended a suspect, who shot and killed a man during a robbery in Okara.

The police received a tip off that the person involved in a murder-cum-robbery case had been spotted in the area. The police team raided a hideout and managed to nab the culprit. The accused was identified as Aslam Bhutta.

During interrogation, it was discovered that the suspect was a school teacher. Aslam and his accomplices, identified as Saeed, Nisar, Amanat and Liaquat, had gunned down Rasheed and injured his brother during a robbery.
