ISLAMABAD:

Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani on Thursday approved additional funds of Rs one billion for the construction of the Khushal Garh Bridge over the Indus River.

Talking to a group of parliamentarians, Gilani said the government’s priority was to complete communication linkages across the country for speedy transfer of goods and services, besides generating economic activity and creating job opportunities in underdeveloped areas of the country.

Gilani said the government was working on the possibility of setting up medium and small industries through private, public partnerships in federally administered tribal areas, with an objective of bringing prosperity.

MNA Sumaira Malik called on the PM and invited him to visit Khushab for inauguration of development schemes launched by the federal government. She asked Gilani to direct the concerned departments for early release of funds for supply of gas and electricity, discussing development projects of her constituency.
