Twitter in uproar as Ranveer Singh injures fans

During his performance at Lakme Fashion Week, actor jumped into the crowd from the stage

Actor Ranveer Singh seems to have won the hearts around the world. However, his latest 'stunt' has rubbed people the wrong way.

During his performance at Lakme Fashion Week, the Padmaavat star jumped into the crowd from the stage. Although it may have seemed like a 'cool' idea at the time, it ended up hurting some fans - literally!

Pictures from the event show a few women laying on the floor after taking a fall. One fan even hurt her head. “Grow up, Ranveer Singh and stop your childish antics,” wrote one Twitter user, while another stated, “To be honest, I was there I wouldn’t have tried to catch you."

Can any common man jump like this? It would be crime. Now its okay bcoz its #Ranveer! Not fair, this is childish & foolish act, he need to grow up. Such incidents can lead to disasters like stampede.

Ranveer carried out a similar crowd-surfing antic at the music launch of his upcoming film Gully Boy. He ended his performance by launching himself into a sea of people, who then chased him to the exit.

Ranveer, along with rapper Naezy and co-actor Siddhant Chaturvedi, performed on the songs Apna Time Aayega and Asli Hip Hop from the film at the final day of Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2019.

“It was a very unique show. Our film is all about music and that was at the heart of our show. There were great performances, live music and the entire gang has authentic rappers. They contributed to every bit of Gully Boy,” Ranveer said.

The upcoming film been directed by Zoya Akhtar and also stars Alia Bhatt and Kalki Koechlin in the lead roles. It will release on February 14, 2019.
