13 killed in bus-pickup collision on Indus Highway

Four more people are in hospital with critical injuries

BANNU / KARAK: A collision between a passenger bus and a pickup truck on Indus Highway claimed the lives of 13 people and injured four, Express News reported on Wednesday.

The incident took place in the Karak area of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P). Following the accident, the injured were immediately rushed to the District Headquarter Hospital for treatment.

Road accidents claim five lives

Officials present on the occasion revealed that the incident took place on the route between Peshawar to Dera. The collision led to the vehicle catching fire, thereby causing casualties.

Further investigations on the matter are underway.

In January, at least 26 people died and 16 others sustained burn injuries after a passenger bus collided with an oil tanker in Hub, Balochistan.

In August last year, at least 18 people were killed and 23 were severely injured when a passenger bus collided with an oil tanker on the Indus Highway.
