The passenger shared a video of the incident, which soon began doing the rounds on social media.
Sources said the airline's deputy general manager of flight services summoned the cabin crew of the flight from Lahore to London.
They were grilled and given a dressing down by the PIA administration, the sources said, adding that the cabin crew was asked how the passenger managed to make and upload the video of the 'special serving'.
It is also believed that the administration was warned if the culprit was not found then the entire cabin crew would be held responsible.
When PIA spokesperson Mashood Tajwar was contacted by The Express Tribune, he said that he could not confirm the authenticity of the video. "I'm not sure if it was made on this flight or is an old one," he said.
Tajwar said that once the flight returns to Pakistan a thorough probe will be carried out into the matter.
