Sindh High Court to examine JIT reports ‘in-camera’
Govt lawyer argued that trial court should take this decision
KARACHI:
The Sindh High Court (SHC) sought on Saturday all three Joint Investigation Team (JIT) reports of Uzair Baloch, Nisar Morai and Baldia factory incident from the Sindh government saying that the JITs will be examined in camera before deciding whether to make them public or not.
A two-member bench, comprising Justice Iqbal Kalhoro and Justice KK Agha, was hearing the plea filed by federal minister Ali Zaidi.
Court sought all three JIT reports from Sindh government while deciding to examine them itself first. Court ordered to submit JIT reports in the chambers.
Court said that the JIT reports will be examined in camera before taking a decision on the plea. Court inquired the government lawyer whether the JIT reports were undisclosed or not. Sindh government's lawyer argued that the trial court should decide about the JIT reports.

Zaidi's counsel, Advocate Umar Soomro argued that the JIT of Model Town was stopped from being made public in the same way.
Sindh government wants to cover up the political names revealed in the JIT reports. People like Rao Anwar are provided safety here. Who will appear in the trial court as the witness, said Soomro.
Court ordered to present all three JIT reports before the court till February 16.
