Sami eyes national team comeback

KARACHI:

The upcoming Super Eight Twenty20 Cup in Faisalabad may not be the first choice for many with the ongoing English county season, but fast-bowler Mohammad Sami is eagerly waiting for the tournament and sees it as a valuable opportunity to press for national selection.

"I'm looking forward to performing well," said Sami. "I've worked very hard in order to make a comeback in selectors' good books. I don't have fitness issues and have a lot of cricket left in me."

Sami, who was named to lead the Karachi Dolphins in the possible absence of former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi, looks at the tournament as a tough task.

"All the teams are very good T20 sides. Our country has specialist players in this format and it is going to be a tough tournament."

What....???? | 13 years ago | Reply A bowler with above 50 runs per wicket average( worst for any regular bowler in history) and already having 20 chances\comebacks.....still trying to get in...........Either our selection committee is bad or this man is well connected..........
