Nasr capable of defeating ‘any other BMD system being developed or procured’

Test of Nasr missile included a quad salvo and single launches

The country's strategic forces on Thursday conducted another test of the short-range surface to surface missile 'Nasr' during a training exercise, said a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The test, which included a quad salvo and single launches, tested extreme inflight maneuverability, including end flight maneuverability; which are "capable of defeating any BMD system currently available in Pakistan’s neighbourhood or any other system being developed or procured".

General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, JCS Committee chairperson, Strategic Plans Division director general, NESCOM chairman, ASFC commander, and senior officers, as well as scientists and engineers from strategic organisations, were present.

The JCS Committee chairperson appreciated the participating troops, scientists and engineers on achieving yet another milestone of national significance towards Pakistan's strategic deterrence capability.

He praised the professional attributes and dedicated efforts of all those concerned and said it was their hard work, which made the successful launch of the weapon system possible, added ISPR.

President Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan and services chiefs congratulated scientists, engineers and the participating troops on their outstanding achievement.
