Citizens told to take preventive measures against swine flu

Patients advised to visit the nearest hospital to get tested incase of any symptoms

ISLAMABAD: Keeping in view the report of Swine flu cases in different parts of the country, health experts on Sunday advised citizens to take special precautionary measures to protect themselves from the virus.

Medical expert Dr Wasim Khawaja from Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) advised that in case of long term coughing with flu and temperature and if the symptoms persist patients should immediately visit the nearest hospital to get tested for swine flu.

He informed that  swine flu symptoms start appearing   five to six days after a person contracts  the virus. During a period of first seven days a positive swine flu patient will transmit virus to others.
