Sea Cargo: NA body for reviewing clauses of bills

Hassan considers suggestions given by exporters and organisations for reviewing different clauses of two bills.

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly Standing Committee on Ports and Shipping has directed the Ministry of Ports and Shipping to re-examine various clauses of the two bills pertaining to ports and shipping tabled in the House.

The committee in a meeting, chaired by MNA Rana Mahmoodul Hassan on Wednesday, considered the suggestions given by exporters and organisations for reviewing different clauses of the two bills – Carriage of Goods by Sea Bill 2011 and Sea Carriage Shipping Documents Bill 2011. The committee asked the shipping ministry to review the clauses of the bills after inviting input from exporter associations in close coordination with relevant government ministries and departments.
