Lawyers in F-8 Kutchery go on strike following demolition of their illegal chamber in an anti-encroachment operation

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Bar Council is awaiting Judges’ response on the call to end strike in lower courts of Islamabad.

Lawyers in F-8 Kutchery have gone on strike following demolition of their illegal chamber in an anti-encroachment operation.

Islamabad Bar Council Vice Chairman Haroon Rasheed told Daily Express that they had requested the judges to resume working of the bench while the bar tries to settle its issues.

He said that the litigants were facing immense difficulties due to the strike for the last 36 days while the lawyers were already on strike for 26 days and now the judges were also not hearing the cases.

Rasheed said the bar council held a hearing on the encroachment issues on the direction of Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Ather Minillah.

Ex-Chairman Islamabad  Bar, Riyasat Ali Azaad and former Secretary Bar as well as current President of Islamabad Bar Chaudhary Khanzada and Secretary Raja Yasir Shakeel appeared before the council and recorded their statements.
