Judge sends accused on judicial remand
In the case pertaining to hate speech against the state
KARACHI:
The administrative judge of anti-terrorism courts sent accused Alam Zeb on judicial remand in the case pertaining to hate speech against the state.
As the accused was presented before the judge, dozens of police personnel and Rangers officials were deployed in and outside the Sindh High Court (SHC) where the hearing took place. Armoured tanks and water cannons were also stationed outside the court.
Zeb was presented before the court after the four-day physical remand. The court ordered the investigation officer (IO) to submit the challan and sent the accused to jail on judicial remand.
According to the police, the accused was involved in hate speech against the state in Sohrab Goth rally. The case against him is registered in Sohrab Goth Police station. Manzoor Pashteen and others have also been nominated in the case.
Meanwhile, the administrative judge of ATCs also sent the alleged facilitators, accused of involvement in the attack on the Chinese Consulate, to jail.
The accused, Ahmed Hasnain, Nadir Khan and Ali Hasnain, were presented before the administrative judge in SHC on Saturday after the completion of physical remand. The court sent the accused on judicial remand.
According to the police, the accused allegedly supplied weapons and explosive material far attack on the consulate.
