OKARA: A woman allegedly murdered her husband to marry another man in Okara on Friday.

Police told Express News that the accused woman had tied the knot with 30-year-old Siddiq Sheikh, a resident of Sher Garh, a few years ago.

However, after some time, she allegedly established relations with another man from the area. As the woman wanted to marry him, she decided to murder her husband.

On the day of the incident, Siddiq was sleeping in his room when Sughra Bibi and her alleged paramour Ghulam Rasul strangled him to death. Meanwhile, Siddiq’s relatives had a suspicion over his sudden death and informed the police of the matter.

The force reached the spot and shifted the body to a local hospital for legal formalities. Later, the police detained the victim’s wife for interrogation. She confessed to murdering her husband. However, the woman’s accomplice was still at large and the police were conducting raids to nab him.

Earlier, a man was shot dead by his spouse for having illicit relations with another woman in Khanewal.

21-year-old Ali Raza married Rabia. However, the couple developed differences soon after they tied the knot as Rabia suspected that her husband had illicit relations with another woman.

On the day of the incident, Rabia asked her husband to take her to her parents’ house.

Raza was taking his wife to his in-laws on a motorcycle when Rabia asked him to pull over at a deserted place in village 6T. As soon as Raza pulled over at the roadside, Rabia allegedly pulled out a gun and shot her husband dead.
