MULTAN: Police allegedly recovered ‘indecent’ pictures of a quack and other female nurses from his cellphone, investigation reveals. The accused was arrested from Multan’s Nishtar Hospital on January 24.

Asad, a resident of Rahim Yar Khan, had been working as a fake doctor for the past eight months at the hospital.

The security in charge of the health facility, Sabahat Sher, suspected the man’s activities and he caught him. Later, he called the police and handed the accused over to them.

During interrogation, the culprit disclosed that he was not a professional doctor. Asad confessed he had been cheating patients and hospital staff for the past several months. The suspect was often part of surgery teams that conducted operations.

The accused was also involved in minting money from patients and was earning handsome commission by sending them to private laboratories and clinics for tests and check-ups.

The police registered a case against the accused and started investigations.

Earlier, an official of the health department was shot and injured by a quack for raiding his clinic in Lahore.

A team of the health department, led by DEO Health Nishtar, raided the clinic of a quack in Ariaian Wala Pind, Raiwind. The suspect, named Abdul Sattar, intervened and resisted. After an exchange of harsh words, he opened fire at the team. Resultantly, an official of the team, identified as Ghulam Nabi, suffered five bullet injuries.
