MUZAFFARGARH: A cleric of a local madrassah was arrested for allegedly subjecting an eight-year-old girl to sexual assault in Muzaffargarh, police told Express News.
Khangarh police said that S*, a resident of Moza Mubarak Pur, was enrolled at a madrassah situated in the area. The seminary was run by cleric Abdul Rehman.
On the day of the incident, the girl went to the madrassah but did not return home. The victim’s family started searching for her and reached the seminary. When they entered the premises they saw accused Abdul Rehman sexually assaulting the girl in an isolated spot adjacent to the seminary.
The enraged family members caught the culprit and beat him. Later, they handed him over to the police. Police have registered a case against the suspect and sent him behind bars.
On January 23, a security guard sexually assaulted a woman at Multan’s Allied Hospital.
Police said the victim, a resident of Jhumra, lodged a complaint, stating that she went to Allied Hospital to visit a relative. The woman added that when she reached the health facility, the security guard of a private company, named Imtiaz, and his accomplices took her to a quarter.
She said that Imtiaz locked the room from the inside and allegedly raped her. She stated that during the ordeal, the accused’s accomplices stood outside the quarter and kept watch.
