Police arrest four murder suspects in Arifwala

Police said accused had gunned down two people and injured several others during different robbery bids

The police claimed to have arrested four murder suspects during a raid in Pakpattan’s Arifwala Tehsil on Wednesday.

SHO Jahanzeb Watoo told Express News that police raided a hideout and arrested four suspects belonging to a notorious gang. They were identified as Muhammad Rasheed, Mazhar, Fayyaz Ahmed and Aftab Ahmed.

He maintained the outlaws had gunned down a man identified as Imdad Ali during a robbery bid on August 1, 2018. He revealed that on August 7, 2018, the suspects barged into the house of flour mill owner Naveed Akhtar to commit robbery. However, when the man put up resistance, the culprits shot him dead.

Jahanzeb revealed the accused were also involved in injuring several people during different robbery attempts. He said the gang used to commit robberies at gunpoint in different areas.

The SHO mentioned that the suspects were wanted by police in several criminal cases.

Earlier, the police apprehended six robbers during different raids in Sargodha.

The police force received a tip off that six robbers, belonging to a notorious criminal gang, were present in different areas across the town. The police team immediately conducted raids and nabbed the culprits identified as Fayyaz Ahmed, Ghulam Abbas, Kamran, Shafaqat, Ansar Abbas and Ramzan.

A large quantity of arms, ammunition, drugs and other valuables were seized from the possession of the outlaws. The gang used to commit robberies and rob people at gunpoint in different areas.
