FIA arrests four ‘swindlers’ in Faisalabad

FIA assistant director said the accused swindled people through lottery schemes

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Faisalabad arrested four people for swindling citizens through lottery schemes.

FIA Assistant Director Shoaib Ahmad Haroon said the authority received complaints that Muhammad Javaid, Muhammad Arshad, Muhammad Iqbal and Muhammad Aslam, all residents of Hajji Abad in Jhang, swindled locals through lottery schemes.

He added the FIA conducted a surprise raid and arrested all four accused. They also confiscated 25 mobile phones, lottery software and other material from their possession.

He mentioned that during initial interrogation, the suspects revealed they were involved in extorting money from various people in Pakistan and abroad.

Earlier, the Anti-Human Trafficking Cell of the FIA arrested eight passengers who were deported by Turkey at Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore. The deportees were identified as Syed Hassan Raza, Zulfiqar Ali, Toheed Ahmad, Nadeem Faisal, Ghulam Hussain, Muhammad Riaz, Bilal, and Yasir Masih.

During initial investigations, it transpired that the passengers had travelled to Greece via the land route of Gwadar, Iran and Turkey without any travel documents. The men were arrested by Turkish authorities and deported to Pakistan.
