ISLAMABAD: The Senate Standing Committee on Commerce and Textile Industry emphasised stopping the under invoicing and money laundering in the country for increasing exports. The meeting held on Wednesday directed the concerned institutions, including the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), to stop under-invoicing to boost revenues. While chairing the meeting, Senator Shibli Faraz said that the current account and fiscal deficit was the main challenge for the country. “We need to enhance exports to get more revenue to overcome these challenges.” He said the government is committed to taking all measures to stop the bleeding sectors to ensure economic stability. A senior official of the FBR briefed the committee about the efforts being made to stop these economic crimes.
