Cop guns down wife after argument

The couple and their two children were on the way home after visiting Murree when they got into an argument

HAFIZABAD:  

A policeman gunned down his wife after an argument in Pindi Bhattian Tehsil, Hafizabad, Express News reported on Tuesday.

A police official said that Kaleem, his wife Neelam and their two children were in a car, on the way home after visiting Murree. During this, the couple got into a heated argument.

He added that when the argument escalated, accused Kaleem pulled out a gun and opened fire on his wife killing her on the spot.

The official maintained that after committing the murder, the culprit dumped the victim’s body at a roadside near Thatti Behlool Pur on M3 Motorway and fled along with the children.

Meanwhile, initial investigations revealed that Kaleem was working as a constable at the Factory Area police station, while his wife Neelam was also serving as a police constable in Punjab police. Police have registered a case and have opened investigations.

In a similar incident a few days ago, a woman was shot dead by her husband over a domestic dispute in Faisalabad.

Reportedly, Tayyab Haneef had a heated argument with his wife Haleema Altaf. In a fit of rage, the man allegedly opened fire on her, killing her instantly.
