RAWALPINDI: The Punjab Education Ministry has banned teaching and non-teaching staff from leaving schools without permission during office timings to go to different educational or government offices in the province.
In this regard, Punjab Education Ministry secretary has issued a notification in all 36 districts of Punjab. The notice warns that violators will face a stringent inquiry as per the Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline and Accountability (PEEDA) Act 2006.

The document adds that teaching and non-teaching staff often leave the school to travel to other places or offices which affects the education system badly.
It has been further directed to implement these orders in letter and spirit or face an institutional inquiry. Teaching and non-teaching staff can leave schools during office hours after taking due permission from the concerned officer.
