KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Saturday sought replies from Sindh chief secretary and health secretary, over a plea against the Sindh government for not issuing funds to Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Medical College Lyari (SBBMCL).

Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) submitted its report which said that the SBBMCL was deprived of ISO certification on fundamental infrastructure. ''Despite summoning records, the college principal did not provide it to the PMDC,'' the report said.

The PMDC has already decreased 50 seats for admission in the college due to the lack of facilities. In the previous hearing, SBBMCL Vice Principal Dr Ameer Khaskheli approached the SHC.

The counsel of the applicant said that PMDC had expressed concern over lack of facilities. The counsel further said that the Sindh government neglects the college and funds were not being issued due to a delay in the summary process to Sindh chief minister, chief secretary and others.
