Developments: Centre wants details of CAA officers’ mess, recruitment

Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority, established in 1982, is a public sector body working under the federal government through Aviation Division Cabinet Secretariat for the promotion and regulation of Civil Aviation operations.

Prior to the creation of CAA, a Civil Aviation Department in the Ministry of Defence managed the Civil Aviation related activities.

The defence ministry continued to be the controlling ministry even after the creation of CAA in December 1982. However, in June 2013, the federal government assigned this responsibility to Cabinet Secretariat (Aviation Division).
