PM should say if he can’t resolve issues: Akhtar Mengal

While addressing media in Karachi, the BNP-M leader reiterated that the party would be happy to cooperate with the government if their demands were addressed as promised.

Referring to Tuesday's meeting between opposition parties in Islamabad, Mengal said the alliance between Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif will stabilise the country's political climate.

Mengal reminds PTI of six-point agenda

He added that the party had discussed a six-point agenda with the federal government regarding the presidential election and a nine-point agenda regarding provincial elections.

However, he added that the BNP-M still had reservations on the matter.

Speaking on his alliance with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Mengal had said in October that BNP-M would continue to work with PTI if its demands were fulfilled.

Imran Nasir | 5 years ago | Reply Running coalition government is an daunting task so Imran Khan would be facing many grave problems. He should leave no stone unturned in keep his alliance intact to ameliorate the economic and peace conditions in Pakistan. He must take the cognizance of the fiery tones of his ministers towards allies to keep alliance surviving, especially Fawad must water down his tone while he speaks about allies.
Iqbal Malik | 5 years ago | Reply The govt needs opposition support for military courts and mini budget. Opposition should have only one point agenda ' bifurcation of Punjab'. Now is their best chance to dismantle the establishment stronghold.
