ISLAMABAD: The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has recently completed a detailed engineering survey of 21 schemes for Quetta to provide gas connections to consumers in Balochistan.
The company has taken various steps to improve gas transmission network in the province to maintain gas pressure especially in the peak winter season, official sources told APP on Tuesday.

Sharing the measures to improve gas pressure in Quetta, they said, the Quetta Pipeline Capacity Enhancement Project has been completed that enhanced the overall pipeline capacity from 149 million cubic feet per day (MMCFD) to 200 MMCFD for gas supply to Quetta and its surrounding areas.
The sources said installation of a new compressor unit of 200 MMCFD capacity at Sibi headquarters and installation of one standby compressor unit at Shikarpur headquarters would increase the pipeline capacity from 200 MMCFD to 226 MMCFD.
In addition, the sources said, the company has designed different reinforcement schemes to redress the low pressure problems across its transmission network in Balochistan and Sindh provinces.
