Things aren't really looking up for the Starks, to be honest...

KARACHI: The final season of HBO's beloved fantasy drama Game of Thrones is all set to return this April, after a hiatus of almost two whole years.

Season eight will comprise of only six episodes, as opposed to seven from season seven and 10 from all the previous seasons. But the good news is that, according to the makers of the Emmy Award-winning show, each of the episodes will be like an entire film on its own.

In the meantime, they have just dropped the official teaser of the upcoming season and boy, did it give us chills! Especially since things don't seem to be looking up for the Stark siblings in it...While a minute and half-long clip doesn't divulge too much, here are five things we derived from it that have left us shocked.

1. A winter date:

After much speculation, we finally know that Game of Thrones will be coming back with a bang on April 14. And needless to say, we'll all be glued to our screens when it does.

2. Tales from the crypt:

Just to make it clear, the teaser isn't actual footage from the upcoming episodes. It was shot specifically to hint to fans what the final season might hold. It features Sansa and Arya Stark with their half-brother Jon Snow. We see the three siblings walking into the crypts under Winterfell. There, they come across the statues of Lyanna Stark, Catelyn Stark and Ned Stark.

We see quite a few blink-and-you-miss but important details from the past seasons as the trio walks through the crypt. For instance, when Jon passes Lyanna, the feather placed in her hands by Robert Baratheon in season one falls to the floor.

Sansa passes by her mother Catelyn's statue while Arya is alone, which could imply that she still holds her identity as 'no one.' They then come face to face with their own statues which essentially means that each of them will 'face death' in the coming season. However, in Game of Thrones terms, that doesn't necessarily means they will die.

Also, we couldn't help but notice that Jon's statue showed him as an aged man, as compared to his sisters' younger-looking statues. This had made us real worried as to what will become of House Stark.

3. Where is Bran?

Here's the bigger question we had in our mind: where is Bran Stark?Since he and his statue are missing from the teaser, does that mean he won't be dying soon? Also, does him missing from the crypts confirm the notorious theory that he might be the Night King after all? Should we be more worried about Bran or the fate of seven kingdoms?

4. White Walkers finally reach Winterfell

As Sansa, Arya and Jon are looking at their statues, the torch blows out, Lyanna's fallen feather gets covered by ice and Arya and Jon wield their swords. This indicates the White Walkers have finally crossed the Wall.

5. Sansa being Sansa...

While Arya and Jon draw their swords out, preparing to fight, Sansa - as usual - doesn't do much. She just stands there, doing nothing. Can she please kill Cersei Lannister or something already? It's the last season so she doesn't have much time to prove she's was worth not killing off for seven whole seasons...

On a completely different note: WE CANNOT WAIT FOR APRIL 14! THE HYPE IS REAL, Y'ALL!
