RAWALPINDI: Stray dogs have become a nuisance for residents of the areas but concerned authorities are taking no action to save the citizens from dog bites. Packs of canines are seen on the prowl at various areas including Dheri Hassanabad, Lalkurti, Allama Iqbal Colony, Tench Bhatta, Dhok Syedan, Kiani Road, RA Bazaar and other RCB localities. They are usually found outside schools, colleges, hotels, busy bus stands and its adjoining areas. During night, stray dogs appear on roads, chase motorcyclists and vehicles causing road accidents.The residents say that they are not only scared of walking on roads and streets but also afraid of letting their children go outside to play. "The number of stray dogs in our area is increasing with each passing day", said Adil, a resident of the People's Colony."The stray dogs are usually seen around garbage heaps during the day, and on roads and streets at night," said Saeed, a resident of Dhoke Syedan.
