K-P CM orders shifting of 171 orphans to Zamong Kor

Mahmood Khan says shelter homes project to be extended to other districts too after Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has directed shifting 171 selected orphans from 12 different districts to Zamong Kor (My Home) Peshawar.

These children will be provided all facilities in Zamong Kor especially education and healthcare.

CM Mahmood said besides extension of shelter homes to other districts of the province Zamong Kor project will also be extended to other districts.

He explained that the provincial government is working on Zamong Kor project so as to turn it into an institution where orphans and people in distress could be facilitated without any hindrance. “The government will provide all facilities to orphans and destitute people,”

This he said while presiding over meeting regarding Khapal Kor foundation Swat (KKF Swat) at Chief Minister Secretariat Peshawar.

Minister for Information Shaukhat Yousafzai, MNA Shad Muhammad, Provincial government spokesman Ajmal Khan Wazir, head of strategic Support Unit Sahibzada Saeed, Secretary Social Welfare, Principal Secretary to CM Muhammad Israr Khan, Director Khpal Kor Foundation Swat Muhammad Ali Shah, Khpal Kor other members and administrative secretaries attended the meeting. The chief minister was briefed regarding the establishment of KKF, organisational structure and the system of provision of facilities to orphans of Swat in the foundation.

KKF director told the meeting that presently 3,404 orphans are studying in the foundation. Besides all basic facilities of boarding, lodging, dining and healthcare, KKF was paying Rs2,000 monthly stipend to them.

The chief minister was also briefed about the establishment of Khpal Kor Village at Gul Kadda Swat. The meeting was told that KKF will be extended to Chitral, Dir Upper, Dir Lower in near future and all services will also be provided to the orphans of these areas.

The meeting also appealed the provincial government for support in this respect.

The CM appreciated the KKF authorities for such gracious and meaningful welfare work describing it as the vision of the PTI.

Mahmood said that this is also the vision of PTI to uplift the weak and hapless section of the society. He assured that his government will extend all possible support to KKF.

CM said that our government will also extend all possible support to such welfare activities in all parts of the province. These welfare activities show patriotism and symbol of great nation, he added.

Mahmood said welfare activities pave way for social justice in society and lead to progress and prosperity. He said that the provincial government with the cooperation of KKF will also initiate steps to turn Zamong Kor project Peshawar into an institution for orphans.
