Appointment of CEC: NA speaker reconstitutes panel

The Committee has been constituted in pursuance of a motion adopted by the House on December 21, 2018

ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser has reconstituted the Parliamentary Committee on appointment of Chief Election Commissioner and members of the Election Commission of Pakistan. Notification to this effect has been issued by the National Assembly Secretariat on Friday.

The Parliamentary Committee comprises MNAs Muhammad Mian Soomro, Omar Ayub Khan, Syed Fakhar Imam, Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, Murtaza Javed Abbasi, Rana Sana Ullah Khan, Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah,  Shahida Akhtar Ali and others.

Meanwhile, Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani has constituted a special committee to provide mechanism for implementation of recommendations of committees adopted by the House and other related matters referred by the council of chairpersons.

Senator Dilawar Khan would be the convener of the committee comprising Senators Khanzada Khan, Syed Muhammad Ali Shah Jamote, Muhammad Javed Abbasi, Saleem Zia, Ch Tanveer Khan, Muhammad Ayub, Walid Iqbal, Nighat Mirza, Muhammad Akram, Molvi Faiz Muhammad, Sarfaraz Ahmad Bugti, Rana Mehmood ul Hassan, Asad Ali Khan Junejo among others.
