Discus efforts to decrease fertility rate by expanding distribution network for contraceptive services

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah met on Friday a World Bank delegation, led by its Country Chief Patchamuthu Illangovan, to discuss matters relating to human capital, public and private investment, structural transformation, trade and sustainability.

The meeting discussed efforts to decrease the fertility rate by expanding the distribution network for contraceptive services to improve development outcomes.

The meeting also discussed and agreed that to support growth and development, there was a need to further invest in people. The World Bank country chief said that health outcomes relating to nutrition, infant and maternal mortality for Sindh have seen considerable progress over the past few years. It was decided to give leverage to the private sector in service delivery and strengthen regulatory framework to ensure better access to services.
