KARACHI:
The College of Speech Language and Hearing Sciences (CSLHS) launched its Masters' programme on Tuesday at Ziauddin University (ZU).
"CSLHS is now introducing a postgraduate programme, MS Speech Language Pathology (MSSLP), to further strengthen the knowledge and therapeutic capacities," said ZU Vice Chancellor Pirzada Qasim. He added that 10 students had been enrolled in the programme.
CSLHS is the first college in Pakistan to offer diploma and an undergraduate degree in BS Speech Language Therapy (SLT), made possible with the help of Speech and Hearing Association of Pakistan (SHAP) and Ziauddin University. It is now offering a post-graduate degree.
Sindh govt strengthens laws for disabled
Sindh Governor Imran Ismail lauded the endeavours of ZU and others extending their volunteer services to provide the best clinical services to children and adults suffering from communication disorders.
"I am impressed by the teamwork I witnessed. A number of organisations have failed due to lack of teamwork despite having the brightest minds in their establishments," he observed.
Addressing the students, Ismail said, "The university is not only preparing you academically but also teaching you to play your role in helping others. This is the quality you must build on. Your country needs your input and you must, at every stage of your life, play your part in bringing about a positive change and rid this country of corruption and poor governance."
