ABBOTTABAD: A day after five members of a family in Abbottabad died in sleep from inhaling toxic fumes of gas, another family of three fell victim to asphyxia at Lambi Dheri locality on Monday.

Afzal Ahmed, his wife Danish and minor son Salar Khan suffocated to death due to gas leakage from the heater which was not switched off by them before going to bed on Saturday night.

The heater went off due to low gas pressure. After restoration of gas supply, the room was filled with gas and all three drifted in to eternal sleep due to inhaling toxic fumes.

Ahmed’s two daughters were at their grandmother’s home and remained safe.

The Dhamthore village bore a sombre mood as three funerals were held on the same day.
