Before summer: GDA plans new projects

Projects include water supply schemes for Thandiyani, Changla Gali, Ayubia and Khanaspur

ABBOTTABAD/ MIRANMSHAH: Galiyat Development Authority (GDA) is initiating new schemes and development projects in Galiyat Region.

“This year GDA will start new projects for improving the civic amenities service delivery, beautification of the region and promotion of tourism,” said GDA Director General Raza Ali Habib while talking to The Express Tribune.

The projects include water supply schemes for Thandiyani, Changla Gali, Ayubia, Khanaspur, outsourcing of state-owned rest houses, installing camping pods at Changla Gali and Khanaspur, establishing parks at Changa Gali, Khaira Gali and Ayubia.

Besides these, 53 sites will be auctioned in February for installation of modernise cabins.

Moreover, GDA served notices to the owners of multi-storey buildings who have violated building by-laws and strict action will be taken soon. Operation will be initiated against billboards. GDA Building Control Section is directed to complete the operation at shortest possible time.

For enhancing the natural and physical environment of Galiyat, and for promulgation the National Clean and Green Campaign launched by Prime Minister Imran Khan, GDA will start plantation drive, more than 200 new dustbins will be installed at different locations of Galiyat.
