ISLAMABAD: Farrukh Sabzwari has taken charge as the SECP chairman after the federal government issued a notification, appointing him as the chairman.

 

Sabzwari was appointed Commissioner at the SECP on November 15 and on December 27, 2018, the federal cabinet approved his appointment.

 

Sabzwari is an MBA in Finance with more than 25 years of professional experience in capital markets of Pakistan and abroad.

SECP issues new guidelines to stop money laundering

Before joining the SECP as a commissioner, he was the CEO of BMA Capital Management, one of Pakistan's largest firms dealing in financial services.

 

His previous senior management roles include a seven-year stint with Credit Suisse Securities in Singapore as Director APAC Equities Sales from 2010 to 2017.

 

Prior to that, he was CEO at KASB Securities, a Merrill Lynch joint-venture partner in Pakistan, a position he held from 2005 to 2009.
