LAHORE: Nawaz Sharif should run for a seat in the parliament and work for its supremacy, Senator Babar Awan said on Saturday night. He was addressing the media at a local hotel.

Awan said some sections were targeting democratic institutions but they would not be successful. About Punjab’s budget, Awan said it had not been prepared in accordance with the National Finance Commission’s directives.

He said before earmarking funds for mega-projects, separate allocations should have been made for all districts of the province.

Earlier speaking at another ceremony, Awan said most of the billionaires and millionaires in the country were not paying their taxes. He said the country was in a state of war and that there was a need to investigate the roots of this conflict.
