CM takes up job quota issue with PM Imran

Seeks federal govt’s support in resolving provincial issues

QUETTA: A parliamentary delegation led by Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal called on Prime Minister Imran Khan at his office in Islamabad on Friday.

During the meeting CM Kamal made a request to the prime minister asking assistance in resolving the provincial issues, particularly those concerning the economy and the missing persons.

The delegation included provincial Minister for Local Government Sardar Saleh Bhotani, provincial Minister for Information and Higher Education Mir Zahoor Buledi, Senator Anwarul Haq Kakar, and Member of National Assembly Sardar Israr Tareen.

Federal Minister for Finance Asad Umar, Minister for Defence Production Zubaida Jalal, and Special Assistant to PM on Political Affairs Naeemul Haq were present on the occasion.



Meanwhile in a series of tweets on Friday, Buledi gave details about their meeting with the PM. He said: “The CM raised long pending issue of 6 per cent quota of Balochistan in government jobs (which constitutes approx 18,000 jobs), on which the PM assured to give Balochistan its due right very soon”.

The PM also assured his support in construction of different highways in the province, he added.

CM Kamal has said periodically that his government is serious regarding provincial resources and is making efforts to resolve issues diligently.

In a meeting with a delegation of Baloch Students Action Committee the other day, CM Kamal had said that it is among top priorities of the incumbent government to improve the quality of education and ensure merit in admission process of medical and engineering institutions of the province.

Kamal said: “There will be no injustice with any student”.



Provincial Minister for Information and Higher Education Mir Zahoor Buledi, Adviser to CM on Education Mir Mohammad Khan lehri and other high-level officials were present on the occasion.

The delegation informed about the delayed admission process in Bolan Medical College (BMC). The chief minister assured that directives will be issued to start the admission process in the college.

To this the ministers informed the CM that within three to four days advertisement will be published.

Kamal said Balochistan Educational Council will be formed that would present recommendations for the improvement of quality of education in the province. It will also craft a policy for setting up a model school in every district where classes of intermediate will also be started.

Meanwhile talking to a delegation of Zamindar Action Committee, the chief minister vowed to resolve farmers issues related to drought and electricity.

A committee has been formed under the leadership of provincial agriculture minister, he said, adding that “the government will act according to recommendations made by the committee”.

The delegation informed about the smuggling of apples and other grains from Iran and complained that despite the ban food items were being smuggled across the border. The CM assured government’s full support.

Former Balochistan chief minister Nawab Aslam Raisani, provincial ministers, and MPAs were present on the occasion.
