PESHAWAR: The peace-loving world is and will remain indebted to the blood of Benazir Bhutto, said Awami National Party (ANP) President Asfandyar Wali Khan.

Eulogising the services of the PPP leader to the nation, country and the cause of democracy on her 11th anniversary, Asfandyar Wali said Benazir Bhutto always maintained a strict and clear stance against terrorism for which the terrorists assassinated her.

The terrorists are still targeting political parties who wish to see the war against terror reach its logical conclusion, the ANP leader said.

In his statement released at Bacha Khan Markaz in Peshawar, Asfandyar Wali further said that politicians and political leadership have paid the heaviest price for war against terror. ANP pays tribute to Benazir Bhutto, Bashir Ahmed Bilour and all peace-loving people who have been martyred, he said, adding that Pakistan and especially Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has seen the worst repercussions of the imposed war against terror. The government is making fake claims of peace these days. Such claims, he said, threaten the future of coming generations, Asfandyar Wali said, adding that peace within Pakistan is subject to peace within Afghanistan. “God forbid if Afghan peace process faces failure, the whole region will have to bear the consequences,” the seasoned politician said. “This is why the Pakistan, Russian and China have to ensure that they remain sincere in ensuring peace in Afghanistan,” he added. They all have to play their part, he said, the dream of having peace in Pakistan is possible with surety of peace within Afghanistan.
