Dr Alvi congratulated the students and their parents on the occasion and urged the students to use their skills and learning with humility. He expressed the hope that the graduates would serve society, especially the less privileged.
Dr Alvi said that PNEC was producing qualified engineers for the country’s evolving industry and appreciated the college’s efforts to strengthen the culture of research and development. He said that the Government of Pakistan had also announced various faculty development programmes and research grant schemes through the Higher Education Commission (HEC).

The president emphasised the need for human intellect to fuse with artificial wisdom, adding that the synapse of intelligence integration was a necessity of the present era.
The Rector said that NUST was making every possible effort to provide its students with the best education in multiple disciplines. He added that NUST had been ranked number one university in HEC ranking since 2015. He called upon the students to play their part in the development of country by working hard in their future assignments.
PNEC Commandant Commodore Habib-ur-Rahman said that PNEC graduates were working around the globe and added that 90% of the students are hired within six months of graduation. He also said that they provide students several opportunities to improve their academic and experimental capabilities. He further said that PNEC teams had participated in four international contests and won prizes.

A total of three students were awarded PhDs, five students were awarded Master’s degree and 283 students were awarded Bachelor’s degrees in various disciplines including Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, IME and Management Information. A further 29 medals were awarded to students with outstanding performance, out of which 10 gold medals were awarded by the president, five gold medals by chief of the naval staff, seven gold medals by the rector and seven silver medals by the chancellor.
