Two civilians were injured in Rawlakot Sector of Line of Control (LoC) on Tuesday when Indian security forces resorted to unprovoked firing, deliberately targeting the civil population.

Muhammad Adnan, 16, and 47-year-old Muhamamd Rasheed were injured and taken to hospital for medical treatment, said a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Indian posts involved in the ceasefire violation were targeted by the Pakistani troops in response, it added.

The incident comes a day after DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor urged Indian Army to respect ethics of professional soldiering.

Taking to Twitter, the Pakistan Army spokesperson condemned Indian occupation forces for opening fire on civilians protesting against recent killing spree in the disputed valley’s Pulwana region. Ghafoor termed the violence as “state-sponsored terrorism” on innocent Kashmiris. He also condemned “unethical targeting of the civilian population across the LoC.
