Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has claimed that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif has asked the ruling PTI government for a National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) for his daughter Maryam Nawaz, Express News reported.

While talking to media in Rawalpindi on Tuesday, he said that those who have plundered the nation with their corruption are now being shown respect.

Rashid, who is also chief of Awami Muslim League (AML), hit out at Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) c0-chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari, saying that he has ruined the future generations of the Bhutto family too.

“It is unfortunate that the thugs have not been taken to task," he said, taking a jibe at opposition parties.

The railways minister went on to say that people are suffering from a dearth of electricity and gas.

The AML chief added that unemployment is rampant in the country. "At least 80 per cent of the inmates in jails are innocent while others roam free."

He also said that leaders of opposition parties, who have National Accountability Bureau (NAB) references against them, are now looking for a way out.
