Addressing the 42nd Award Ceremony of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) in Islamabad, PM Imran said the industry and exports were the backbone of trade and commerce in any country.
“Obstacles in the way of doing business will be removed to give boost to small and medium enterprises,” the prime minister said. “Several steps have already been taken to facilitate the exports industry.”
Imran urged the nation to change its mindset regarding the business or setting up industry.
“The attitude of bureaucracy towards the business sectors will be changed and it needs to remove bottlenecks in the way of doing business,” he said. “Increased prosperity will come through commerce and industry… Our exports of $24 billion are meagre keeping in view the size of our population and economy [therefore] efforts are afoot to make the industry competitive for international markets.”
The prime minister noted that wealth creation and profitability were genuine concerns of any business, adding that wealth creation led to increased taxes, more employment opportunities and overall prosperity.
