Late last week, American rapper T-Pain dropped a "surprise" song titled That's Yo Money. Unfortunately, the single got blocked on YouTube on copyright grounds after Indian film-maker Mohit Suri and composer Mithoon pointed out that the melody used by the Grammy winner is the latters's original work, featured in the 2013 film Aashiqui 2.
"One more surprise before the year's over: Thats Yo Money out now," T-Pain tweeted on Friday.

Mohit, who had helmed the Bollywood film, wrote, "Don't know why, but this seems familiar. Aashiqui 2's Tum Hi Ho, T-Pain. It's a melody from Mithoon's song."

Mithoon also tweeted, "Sir, the melody that you have used in your new song is my original work for a previously released Indian film. The label, T-Series, is looking into this."

Following their tweets, the video for That's Yo Money got blocked.
T-Pain woke up to the news of his song having been removed from YouTube. He then tweeted, "Woke up to getting dragged by brown twitter. I definitely didn’t produce this song. I had no idea that was a sample and I have never heard the music before. I got the beat from the producer. It's an easy thing to work out. The labels will be in contact. Thank you."
Mohit clapped back at the rapper. He replied, "Brown Twitter? Sir, is that what your response is? Is this an apology or foolish ignorance? If you hadn’t been so stuck up in your world and realised that this song has crossed over a billion views, maybe you would understand."

Even music composer Salim Merchant chimed in. He wrote, "What a pain, Mr T. How do you make music ? It’s so important to be a good human being and your racism shocks me!"
The video of Tum Hi Ho, which was picturised on actors Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, has received 213 million views so far.
