Army chief pays tribute to APS martyrs

Says unity can carry forward Pakistan to its rightful destination of peace, prosperity

Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Sunday said that Pakistan has bravely faced challenges at heavy cost to come out successful.

Paying tribute to the martyrs and bereaved families of the Army Public School attack, DG ISPR Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor said on Twitter that the nation remembers its martyrs.


"We stay united & steadfast to carry forward Pakistan to its rightful destination of peace & prosperity,” the statement added.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Imran Khan reiterated the nation’s commitment to national and regional security on the 4th anniversary of the terrorist attack on Army Public School (APS) Peshawar.

In a message the premier conveyed that numerous sacrifices in blood and sweat have been given in the war against terrorism for the pursuit of peace.

He added that the tragic incident unified and solidified the whole nation against an enemy which is a blot on humanity and the worst example of animalism.
