13 cases less: Terror attacks decline in 2018

34 incidents of terrorism took place in 2018 as compared with 47 in 2017

PESHAWAR: There has been a decline in the incidents of terrorism in 2018 as compared with 2017, according to report of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD).

It said that 34 incidents of terrorism took place in 2018 as compared with 47 in 2017. Similarly 36 cases of extortion were reported during the current year as compared with 42 in the previous year, the police spokesman said on Saturday.

Around 28 cases of target killing occurred during the current year as compared to 29 cases in the previous year and five cases of kidnapping for ransom were reported during the current year while the previous year six cases were reported.
