Cleanliness, plantation drives in full swing in Punjab
During the drive, encroachments including 2,880 handcarts, 1,022 encroachments outside shops were cleared

Bahawalpur Deputy Commissioner Shozab Saeed chaired a meeting to review the steps taken in connection with the Clean and Green Punjab campaign.
It was stated in the meeting that during the Clean and Green Punjab drive, encroachments have been cleared, including 2,880 handcarts and 1,022 encroachments outside shops. The authorities also issued notices to 5,543 violators and imposed fines totaling Rs139,507. The authorities also recovered 173 kanals of land and the worth of the retrieved land is equal to Rs4.4 million.
Bahawalpur Waste Management Company Managing Director Muhammad Naeem Akhtar informed the meeting that during the campaign, more than 12,000 garbage piles were removed, 6,818 siltages were cleared, 12,500 tonnes of garbage was removed and 8,722 closed drains were opened while 591 sewerage lines and 392 disposal wells were cleaned.
