The shelter will provide accommodation for 200 people. Facilities including transport, health care and meals will be provided and uninterrupted electricity supply has also been ensured.
The provincial government is also setting up shelter homes near bus stops and more are being set up in Charsadda, Kohat and Haji Camps.
Chief Minister Mehmood Khan has approved the provision of three buses to facilitate transport of homeless individuals from other areas of the provincial capital.
Tents set up in Lahore for the homeless
The shelter homes are being established by the provincial administration under its 100-day plan.
A total of 430 people shall be accommodated in these shelter homes and will be provided with meals and other services.

In November, the Punjab government, in line with directives of the prime minister set up temporary shelters for passengers and homeless people.
A spokesperson for the district administration highlighted that the construction of permanent shelter homes would take time so the government had decided to provide the needy people refuge in temporary shelters.
